Slow down and reconnect with nature through a 3-hour guided forest therapy plus nature sketching session led by Milena from Wild Calm Forest Therapy and local artist Niabi Kapoor. This experience is designed to awaken the senses and support a deeper connection to both the natural world and your own embodied presence, as well as guide both brand new and seasoned artists in using sketching to foster presence, awe, and appreciation of the forest’s minute details.
Our time together will include a guided meditation, a very slow-paced wander through Blackmud Creek Ravine, gentle sensory invitations, sketching materials and guidance, a curated postcard with sketching tips to take home, and a peaceful tea ceremony featuring fresh-foraged tea and premium treats from a local small business.
No sketching or art experience is required; all are welcome!
This site in the ravine includes inclines and declines, narrow paths, and some uneven terrain. If you have mobility concerns, please check out my events at Beaver Hills Biodiversity Trail, University of Alberta Botanic Garden, or get in touch to discuss your needs. We move very slowly and this gentle practice is welcoming to all bodies and levels of physical fitness.
There is a minimum group size of FIVE for this session to run. Registration will close 48h before the event.
